Plan Your TrekEverything you need to know about trail logistics, weather, and preparation for Dayara Bugyal.
The Dayara Bugyal trail commences from the picturesque Himalayan village of Raithal (Natin cluster), situated approximately 42–45 km uphill from Uttarkashi town in the Garhwal Himalayas. The basecamp is well-connected and accessible via Dehradun by air, rail, or scenic highway roads.
We eliminate all mountain transit friction. Trekkers opting for our complete Dehradun to Dehradun package (₹7,500/person) receive coordinated shared mountain transport in Bolero / Tempo Traveler from Dehradun directly to the Raithal/Natin basecamp and back to Dehradun. Trekkers choosing the Natin to Natin package (₹5,500/person) can assemble directly at the basecamp lodge on Day 1.
Key transport connections to reach the starting rendezvous in Dehradun:
The nearest aviation terminal is Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun, connected via multiple daily non-stop flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Lucknow. From the airport, reliable airport cabs or prepaid shuttles run directly to Dehradun city center (approx. 45 mins) or straight to Uttarkashi/Raithal.
Dehradun Railway Station (DDN) is the principal rail gateway with regular superfast services. Key overnight express routes from New Delhi include the Nanda Devi AC Express (Train #12205) and Mussoorie Express, alongside early morning Vande Bharat and Jan Shatabdi Express.
Frequent state-run UTC Volvo and AC sleeper buses depart round-the-clock from ISBT Kashmere Gate and Majnu Ka Tila in Delhi for Dehradun (5–6 hours). From Dehradun, the road to Raithal winds through Mussoorie, Chamba/Dhanaulti or Tehri bypass, taking 6–7 hours across scenic Garhwal vistas.
Dayara Bugyal is an accessible high-altitude meadow trek open across multiple distinct seasons. The perfect window depends on whether you seek pristine snowscapes, golden autumn panoramas, or blooming alpine wildflowers:
For snow enthusiasts and winter adventurers, this is the most mesmerizing phase:
The premier window for crisp mountain photography and crystal-clear skies:
Escape the summer swelter of the plains into gentle mountain breezes:
Choosing an alpine trail is straightforward, but selecting the right mountain outfit is what defines your safety, comfort, and authenticity in remote Garhwal altitudes.
We view mountain safety as non-negotiable. Every expedition carries medical first-aid kits, portable oxygen cylinders, pulse oximeters, and rigorous acclimatization monitoring protocols.
We are born and based in Uttarkashi. Unlike commercial aggregator platforms that sub-contract operations, Yeti Adventure operates its own localized mountain teams, homestays, and trusted village network in Raithal.
Our trek leaders are graduates of the prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM) Uttarkashi with Advanced Mountaineering (AMC) qualifications, wilderness survival training, and intimate trail knowledge.
We cap batches to 6–12 participants, maintaining a dedicated 1:6 leader-to-trekker ratio for personalized attention, zero-trace Leave No Trace camping, and minimal pressure on fragile alpine grasslands.
The Garhwal Himalayas are sacred ecological zones. Unmanaged mass tourism creates severe litter hazards in delicate meadows like Dayara. At Yeti Adventure, our pledge is simple: carry out everything you carry in, leaving nothing behind except your footsteps.
Single-use plastics are forbidden. Trekkers are required to carry durable reusable water bottles and personal mess tins for trail meals.
Every wrapper, battery, tissue, or personal item must be packed into your personal dry waste sack and brought down to municipal disposal in Uttarkashi.
We pitch dedicated eco-friendly dry pit toilet tents layered with sawdust. Waste naturally composts without leaching chemicals into mountain aquifers.
Organic vegetable food scraps are buried responsibly well away from fresh water sources. Feeding mountain wildlife is strictly prohibited.
No washing of body or kitchen utensils directly in glacial brooks or alpine ponds. We keep Himalayan mountain streams clean for downhill communities.
Our guides conduct voluntary eco-walks on descent, picking up stray debris left by commercial groups to leave the trail cleaner than we found it.
